Redeeming your rewards

Now the best part, mile redemption. Simply charge the cost of the trip on the card and go online and select your travel expense to redeem. Capital One automatically recognizes your travel expenses.

Note that it is a tiered redemption system, but its flexible because you can break down your expense to meet the best tier as explained in the example. Or you can opt to receive cash for 1.5% rewards.

Miles Needed For Travel That Costs...
15,000 Up to $150
35,000 $150.01 - $350
60,000 $350.01 - $600
100x cost $600+

Example

Lets say your travel is $450. Oh no, based on the tier system, you require 60,000 miles to redeem (1.5% reward). But even if its for yourself, you can redeem for 3 imaginary travelers online and in which case, you fall under the $150 tier (450/3 = 150) and can redeem for 45,000 miles (2% reward).

†† You will receive $2 for signing up and $35 after applying and getting approved for the credit card though the link. I do receive a little compensation when you use my referral link.
